This policy explains how consent is obtained and managed for photography, filming, and image use.
It applies to all school, nursery, and family photography carried out by Kirsty Bowen Photography.

Consent for photography is always obtained in advance and is never sought directly from children.

I rely on the school’s written confirmation that appropriate consent is in place before using any such images.
Where consent is not given
I follow a discreet system agreed with the school, such as staff guidance or visual markers, to ensure a child is not photographed. Children without consent are not singled out and are never excluded from activities.

Individual and sibling portraits
For individual or sibling portraits offered directly to families, consent for marketing or promotional use is obtained by me directly from parents or carers.

- Consent for marketing or promotional use may be withdrawn at any time by contacting me directly.
- Once consent is withdrawn, images will no longer be used for marketing and will be removed from active use. Past publications (printed materials or previously shared content) cannot always be recalled.
School commissioned imagery (prospectus, general marketing, filming)
- Consent for these images is managed by the school.
- Withdrawal of consent for marketing or portfolio use must be made through the school.
- I will comply with the school’s instructions to stop using images for portfolio or promotional purposes going forward. Past publications cannot always be removed.
